Finishing the Tipi Poles

The Tipi poles are scraped of sap, then finished with an orbital sander for a smooth surface. Next the poles are drilled and an anti-rot plug inserted into the ends to prevent white ant and wood rot.

A piece of dowel is inserted to finish. Next the poles are dipped in an oil bath, and left to soak.

They are then wiped down and dried. The result is a beautifully finished straight, strong and durable dressed Tipi pole.
