Lay the Tipi cover on the ground with the outside facing up. Pick four of your strongest poles and place two of them over the center of the cover.

These poles are known as "North' and "South". At this point, consider how high you want the cover to sit above the ground.This is determined by the amount of pole overhanging the hem, and the ground surface.

Sandy ground will allow the poles to sink slightly, and so lower the ground clearance.

The base of the third pole (Door Pole) is placed about one meter from the door hole at the base of the cover, with the same overhang as the N. S. poles.
